My 4 year old grandson loves this book. Of course he can't do the experiments by himself, but he loves helping with them. We have only done a couple of the experiments and they are easy to do and doesn't take a lot of time. Most of the items needed are things that you would already have available. This book is a good tool for young children who wants to learn about science. I would highly recommend.

Great scientific book for kids -easy projects -

My son is 8 and loves it when we pull this one out to "speriment". I love that it is simple, spiral bound (ie, easy to keep open while you are working the experiment), and visual. Fun for a rainy afternoon. Teaches kids that science can be fun!

Very fun for kids! I am the supervisor for a tutoring program so my tutors love using it for ideas! The only con is that it is difficult to turn the pages sometimes because of the binding, but that doesn't affect the content at all! I would definitely recommend this book.

5.0 out of 5 stars Perfetto per stimolare la curiosità verso la scienza (e per chi non lo sa anche per l'inglese)
Reviewed in Italy on September 11, 2019
Libro molto curato, come tutti i libri Usborne!

This book is more for the adult who is supervising the activities rather than the kids. But this is an excellent book. There are activity ideas that kids as young as 3 years would enjoy.
It's a great way to keep children occupied. Plus it makes learning very interesting.

Highly interesting books for teachers willing to do other activities than learning from reading books. Easy things to make or do and the children just love doing them

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent book for budding scientists!

I bought this book for my son for Christmas--he was just about to turn 6. He loves the book, and so do I. It's filled with simple, straightforward activities that all demonstrate scientific concepts. Some of the activities are more like crafts--for example, making a shadow puppet theatre--and some are more like experiments--making a solar cooker to try to roast a marshmallow on a hot day.

A little blurb of information is given after each activity to explain the scientific concept, but not too much detail is given, which makes this book just right for younger children who would be overwhelmed by too much complex information.

What I really like about this book is that as far as I can tell, none of the activities requires a great deal of time, nor do they need expensive materials. They're all easy, quick, fun things you can do with your curious little children with things that are already around the house.

A great resource to have around for young homeschooled children, or for any child on a rainy day or during the times in the winter when it's too cold to play outside. Highly recommended.
